The little rann of kutch is the India’s largest birds population home covering more than 500 sq, km area. The sanctuary is particularly known for the breeding of flamingo who descend here in thousands. The journey to this wonderful land itself is adventurous which involves a camel ride of about 48 hours from Kala Dungar. But sighting a wild Ass is not so tiring and tedious. The speed and stamina of this marathon runner who gallop untiringly for hours and touches a speed of more than 70 km/h over a short distance.

Rann of Kutch acts as a breeding ground for flamingo, pelican and avocet with ass being a protected species being rare.
